After graduating from college, I was blessed with the opportunity to live in Alaska for three and a half years. What an adventure it was! I was an intern for the US Fish and Wildlife out on St. Paul Island in the Pribilof Islands (middle of the Bering Sea) for 2 summers and then moved to Anchorage where I worked with at-risk youth with Boys & Girls Clubs, Alaska.
On my off time, I did what my heart always tells me to do. Explore. Alaska is such a special place to me. It still holds my heart. There are still days that I yearn to be out on the the waters of the Kenai Fjords National Park or out hiking in God’s country eagerly waiting for a glimpse of nature at it’s finest: Moose, bear, eagle, whales, beluga, salmon berries, sea otters, wild blueberries, tundra, forest, salmon fishing, Denali gracing us with a viewing, just to name a few. There are always so many wonderful things to experience in Alaska, no matter what time of year. I highly recommend visiting Alaska. I personally like road trips (with local cruises planned in the itinerary), but even going on a large cruise can give you a taste of the Last Frontier. If you are wanting to visit Alaska and need help organizing an itinerary, I would love to help. Click here to contact me.
I moved back to the lower 48 in 2006 to attend graduate school. It was a bitter sweet move for me. It has lead to my returning to Alaska each year, to attempt to satisfy my love of Alaska. This portfolio is a collection of moments from my many trips to Alaska. If you like any of the pictures and would like to buy one, please check out my gallery. If it is not in my gallery, please contact me and I would be happy to work with you.
